A rare and characterful original 1940s Smartee Togs of Texas ladies Western shirt, featuring beautifully detailed chain stitched horse motifs to the front and back.
This piece is a wonderful example of early Western tailoring, with contrasting yokes, pearl snap fastening, and intricate embroidery depicting horse heads to the chest and a rearing horse across the back. Shirts from this period are increasingly difficult to find, particularly with this level of decoration and in wearable condition.
The soft neutral tone is contrasted with deep brown panels and golden stitching, giving the shirt a warm, classic Western palette that pairs effortlessly with denim, skirts, or high-waisted trousers.
A true collector’s piece, but still completely wearable today.
